A tidal range indicator is an instrument used to show the extent of the variation in sea level between low tide and high tide.

The tidal range is the difference in water level between these two points. It varies throughout the lunar cycle: it is greater during spring tides and smaller during neap tides.

Unlike a tide clock, which indicates the state of the tide throughout the day, a tidal range indicator provides information about the amplitude of the tides and how it changes over the course of the cycle.
