Elegant tide clock featuring a round brass case, surrounded by a hemp rope forming a large hanging loop. Its clear dial allows you to follow the main stages of the tidal cycle: rising tide, high tide, falling tide and low tide. Inspired by traditional nautical instruments, its design makes it both practical and decorative, ideal for a seaside home, boat or any nautical-style interior.
A tide clock provides an approximate indication of the tidal cycle: rising tide, high tide, falling tide and low tide. Its mechanism is based on the lunar cycle and completes one full rotation in approximately 12 hours and 25 minutes, which corresponds to the average interval between two successive high tides.
To set it correctly, check the exact time of high tide for the area where the clock will be used. At that time, position the hand on “High Tide”. The mechanism will then automatically follow the tidal cycle.
It is important to set the clock using the tide times for the specific location, as these vary from one coastline to another. The clock provides an approximate indication and should not be used as a substitute for official tide tables for navigation.
